Your First Visit
Not sure what happens if you simply turn up? Here is the whole morning, honestly.
- From 9:00 AM Sunday School (Wilivola Sigatabu) for the children. Come early if you'd like your kids to join in.
- 10:15 AM People start arriving and greeting one another outside. Nobody will rush you — feel free to stand at the back and watch.
- 10:30 AM The service begins. Hymns are sung in iTaukei, mostly unaccompanied and in four parts — it is the thing visitors remember most.
- About 11:15 AM The sermon. Preaching is usually in iTaukei; ask anyone nearby and they will gladly translate for you.
- 12:30 PM The service closes. Stay for tea and talanoa — this is when you actually meet people.
What should I wear? A modest shirt and formal wear. If you don't own a sulu, that is completely fine — come as you are.
